Depending on your cable routing and/or turbo setups, you may have exhaust and shifter cables running quite close to one another. If the proper precautions are not taken to protect your cables from exhaust heat, you will most likely end up with a melted cable. 

K-Tuned's cable wrap is high heat resistant and will help protect your cables from excessive exhaust/manifold temperatures. You still need to make sure the wrap/cables never comes in contact with the heat source at any point, as doing so would essentially void any heat protectant qualities.
